The person that I idol the most-Salahuddin al-Ayyubi

The person that i idolize the most is Yusuf bin Najmuddin Ayyub also known as Salahuddin al-Ayyubi's .He is the leader who bring back Baitul Maqdis to muslim .He was born in the year 543H corresponding to 1138AD in the city of Tarkit (Iraq), Baghdad. Salahuddin al-Ayyubi is of Kurdish descent. His mother's name is Monsun while his father is Najmuddin Ayub bin Shadhi who is a governor.

From an early age, Salahuddin al-Ayyubi was exposed to the knowledge of heroism and leadership, as well as being taught various war skills, such as self-defense, archery, horse riding and so on.In addition, he also studied religious knowledge such as the interpretation of the Qur'an, creed, fiqh, syariah, hadith knowledge along with the chain of transmission along with its narrators. He also memorized many Arabic poems.

Growing up, Salahuddin al-Ayyubi joined the cavalry of Sultan Nur ad-Din. He learned a lot of military knowledge from his uncle. Until around 1160 AD, he was ordered to join a military mission to Egypt.Salahuddin al-Ayyubi was given the responsibility by his uncle to bring down the Fatimid government in Egypt which was Shiite. With the strength of his spirit and the responsibility of upholding religion, he and his soldiers succeeded in overthrowing the Fatimiyah and restoring true Islam in the city.It was in Egypt that Salahuddin al-Ayyubi knew that there were many conflicts such as the power struggle of the governors and problems in the administration, but he could not act arbitrarily. This is because he was the head of the army from Syria who had no power over the army in Egypt which was then led by Caliph al-Adid.After the death of the caliph, Salahuddin al-Ayyubi was appointed as the ruler who was also Sultan Nur ad-Din's representative in Egypt. Many changes were made in the administration, economy, including reorganizing the armed forcesIt wasn't until the sultan died in 1174 that he began a series of military campaigns. Salahuddin al-Ayyubi later became the Sultan of Egypt and declared independence from the Seljuk kingdom and founded the Ayubbiyyah kingdom.

One of the biggest contribution of Salahuddin al-Ayyubi to islam empire is he and his forces successfull won the crusade at hittin that this victory led to opening the Baitul Maqdis to muslim .In a series of fierce battles between Salahuddin al-Ayyubi's forces against the Crusaders in Tiberias, near the foot of Bukit Hittin, the Crusaders were defeated on 24 Rabiulakhir 583H.The victory of the Hittin War opened an easy way for Salahuddin al-Ayyubi and the Islamic forces to capture the holy city of Baitul Muqaddis. He was very ambitious and dreamed of capturing Baitul Muqaddis for the sake of Islam, so he was willing to let the city be owned by non-Muslims.After fighting passionately, sacrificing his life against the Crusaders, Salahuddin al-Ayyubi and the Muslim army finally managed to capture the city on Friday, 27 Rajab 583H.

After 90 years, the cry of 'Allahu Akhbar' resounded, Friday prayers were re-established in the Holy Mosque and the symbol of the cross was taken down. The event became a great victory that was so meaningful for all Muslims, and was celebrated by scholars all over the world until all Muslims gathered to witness the historic event.

Not only that Salahuddin al-Ayyubi also managed in mastering the third crusade .The First Crusade was the moment when Jerusalem fell to the Crusaders in 1099 (490H), while the Second Crusade was won by Salahuddin al-Ayyubi and the Islamic forces in the Hittin War in 1187 AD (583H) which later successfully recaptured Jerusalem .All Christians in general could not accept the defeat, so various military assistance from countries in Europe was offered to regain Baitul Maqdis .So in this third crusade The war continued for 5 years until both sides became lethargic and lacked enthusiasm, but in order to regain the city of Baitul Maqdis, the Islamic forces never retreated under the leadership of Salahuddin al-Ayyubi. Until finally both sides agreed to make an agreement in Ramla in September 1192M or 588H.The agreement recognized Salahuddin al-Ayyubi as the ruler of all of Palestine, except for the city of Acra which was placed under Christian rule. Thus ended the third Crusade and the holy city of Islam remained under the protection of its people.

Salahuddin al-Ayyubi died on Wednesday morning, before dawn on the 27th of Safar in the year 589H. At that time he was 57 years old. It is narrated that when he died, he did not leave any property except one dinar and 47 dirhams only and he also did not have a house, land or any property. This proves that he is a leader who sacrifices all his wealth for the sake of the country and anyone in need. He cares more about others than accumulating wealth for himself.

In conclusion ,Salahuddin al-Ayyubi has proven that a good leader is one who adheres firmly to religion, as well as a pious personality to serve as an example to his subordinates. In fact, it will also be respected and looked up to by non-Muslims.Salahuddin al-Ayyubi can be compared to a star that was born in the world of Islamic history. He is not a mere leader but a figure who has freed the holy city of al-Quds with his life and blood as a pledge, his services and devotion are certainly not repaid. May his soul always be blessed by God and placed in the group that God loves, amen.
